Now, turn to the Jamaican context and ask yourself: What do I want for my community? Why must the Jamaican vote be free?
Spent differently, $39Bn in tax dollars can keep more young people in schools, train more skilled workers, build more recreational spaces, fund social outreach initiatives...ultimately stopping crime before it starts.
If the NHT is overfunded, why not change the payroll tax allocation? Why not lower NHT contribution to one per cent and bump education tax up to three per cent?
